About Pranburi

Pranburi has boutique beach resorts, Pranburi Forest Park’s mangrove boardwalk and Khao Kalok.

Pranburi is the district just south of Hua Hin, where the town gives way to quieter beaches, shrimp farms and pineapple fields. The coast around Pak Nam Pran has become a favourite for boutique resorts and pool villas, with a calmer, more local feel than central Hua Hin. The area moves at an easy pace, with fishing boats at the river mouth, long empty stretches of sand and a handful of beach cafés rather than a crowded seafront strip.

Families, couples and long-stay visitors base themselves here for space and peace while staying within easy reach of Hua Hin’s restaurants, markets and golf courses. Short transfers between Hua Hin and Pranburi are common for dinners, market trips, airport connections and moving between hotels during a longer holiday. Being so close means a Pranburi base never feels cut off: Hua Hin’s night markets, shopping malls and hospitals are only a short drive away whenever you need them.

Things to see and do in Pranburi

  • Pranburi Forest Park’s mangrove boardwalk and pine-fringed beach
  • Khao Kalok, a headland with a quiet beach and small resorts
  • Pak Nam Pran, the fishing village at the river mouth
  • Pranburi River trips through the mangroves
  • Seafood restaurants along the coastal road
  • Easy access to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park further south

What’s included in your Hua Hin to Pranburi transfer

  • A private car or van for your group only — no sharing, no extra pickups
  • Pickup at your hotel, villa or condo anywhere in Hua Hin
  • Drop-off at your hotel or address in Pranburi
  • Fuel and expressway tolls included in the price
  • Toilet, food and photo stops on request

The road between Hua Hin and Pranburi

The drive between Hua Hin and Pranburi is short and simple. The direct route follows Phetkasem Road (Highway 4) south from Hua Hin past Khao Tao towards Pranburi town, with turn-offs east to the beach areas at Pak Nam Pran and Khao Kalok. An alternative coastal road runs closer to the sea through Khao Tao and Sai Noi, which is slower but more scenic. Traffic is usually light, with busier moments around Hua Hin’s southern edge during the evening rush and at weekends.

Good places to stop on the way

  • Khao Tao, with its hilltop temple and quiet beach
  • Sai Noi beach, a small, sheltered bay
  • Pranburi town market
  • Pak Nam Pran’s riverside

Toilet and food stops are free. Sightseeing stops at attractions are 500 THB each — add them in the booking notes.

Best time to travel to Pranburi

The driest and most pleasant months are from November to April, with calm seas and cooler evenings around December and January. Heavier rain usually comes from around September to November on this coast. Thai long weekends bring many visitors from Bangkok, so book transfers for Fridays and Sundays early. Late afternoon is ideal for a beach or seafood dinner trip. Early mornings are lovely for the mangrove boardwalk.

Travel tip for Pranburi

Our base is in Pranburi, so pickups here are quick to arrange.

Taxi vs. bus, train or flight to Pranburi

Buses and minivans run on fixed timetables from bus terminals, often with a change in Bangkok. A private car goes door to door, so you arrive at your resort without carrying bags between stations.

Choose your car

Sedans suit one to three travellers, MPVs and SUVs four, and VIP vans up to eight with luggage. For long trips a van gives everyone more room to stretch out.
