About Sam Roi Yot
Sam Roi Yot is home to Phraya Nakhon Cave and its famous pavilion, plus lotus marshes and quiet beaches.
Khao Sam Roi Yot, meaning “mountain of three hundred peaks”, was Thailand’s first coastal national park. Its limestone hills rise straight from marshland, mangroves and quiet beaches south of Pranburi. The scenery is dramatic yet the park stays peaceful, with fishing villages, shrimp ponds and wetlands full of birdlife. Hiking trails, a visitor centre and simple seafood restaurants near the beaches complete the picture, while park rangers can advise on conditions.
It is one of the best day trips from Hua Hin. Visitors come to climb to Phraya Nakhon Cave, where sunlight falls on a royal pavilion built for King Chulalongkorn, to kayak through mangroves, or to watch birds and dusky langurs. Photographers, walkers and families all enjoy it, and a private driver means you can combine several parts of this spread-out park in one day. Bring sun protection and water, as shade is limited in the open marshes.

The road between Hua Hin and Sam Roi Yot
The drive between Hua Hin and Sam Roi Yot follows Phetkasem Road (Highway 4) south past Khao Tao and Pranburi, then turns east onto smaller provincial roads that lead through farmland and prawn farms to the park. Some drivers take the coastal road through Pak Nam Pran instead, which is quieter and more scenic. Traffic is usually light, and the only busy section is Highway 4 leaving Hua Hin. Inside the park, roads are narrow but paved, and the main sights are spaced apart.

Best time to travel to Sam Roi Yot
