When should I leave Hua Hin?

The drive takes around 3 hours without heavy traffic. Add the time your airline asks you to be at the airport, plus a margin for traffic around Bangkok. Send us your flight time and we suggest a pickup time.

As a rough guide, for an international flight most guests leave Hua Hin about 6 hours before departure; for early-morning flights the roads are quiet and you can leave a little later. On Sunday afternoons and holiday weekends we recommend extra time.

Drop-off at the departures level

Your driver takes you right to the departures level (4th floor) at Suvarnabhumi and helps unload your luggage at the door closest to your airline’s check-in area. If you need to be dropped somewhere else, such as an airport hotel, just tell us.

If your plans change — a later flight or an extra stop — message us and we adjust the pickup.

The drive between Bangkok and Hua Hin

Hua Hin is about 200 km south-west of central Bangkok. Most drivers take Rama II Road (Highway 35) out of the city past Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram, then join Phetkasem Road (Highway 4) through Phetchaburi and Cha-am into Hua Hin. From the airports the first part of the route uses the expressways around Bangkok, which is why the trip takes about the same time from Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang or a city hotel.

Without heavy traffic the drive takes around 3 hours. Friday evenings leaving Bangkok, Sunday afternoons coming back and long holiday weekends are the busiest times, so on those days allow extra time. Your driver knows where the slow stretches are and when it is worth taking a different road.

There are large petrol stations with clean toilets, coffee shops and convenience stores all along the way. Ask your driver to stop whenever you like — for food, a toilet break or a photo — at no extra cost.

Which car is right for you?

  • Family of 3–4 with suitcases: Family MPV (Innova) or Family SUV (Fortuner).
  • Groups of 5–8, golf bags or lots of luggage: Mini Van VIP (Commuter) or All New VIP Van with reclining seats.
  • Special occasions and VIP guests: Toyota Alphard.
