Day trip zones around Hua Hin
Most guests plan a day around one or two zones, so less time is spent on the road. The driver can suggest a good order on the day.
Zone A – Phetchaburi & Cha-am

Khao Wang (Phra Nakhon Khiri)
A royal summer palace built for King Rama IV across three hilltops in Phetchaburi. Its throne halls, temples and lookouts mix Thai, European and Chinese styles. Walk up the path or take the cable car to the top.
Open: daily 08:30–16:00
Khao Luang Cave
A huge limestone cave temple filled with golden Buddha images. On clear days, sunlight falls through openings in the roof and lights up the statues — the best time for photos is around 11:00–14:00.
Open: daily 08:00–16:00
Zucata Sheep Farm
A family farm and petting zoo where children can feed sheep, horses and parrots, with mountain views, a white windmill and a red tractor for photos. See our Zucata Sheep Farm guide.
Open: daily 09:00–18:00
Mrigadayavan Palace
King Rama VI’s seaside summer palace, built of golden teak and raised on stilts so the sea breeze flows through every room. Plan ahead: it opens only Friday to Sunday. See our palace guide.
Open: Friday–Sunday 09:00–17:00 (last tickets 16:00)
Zone B – South of Hua Hin

Hua Hin Safari & Adventure Park
Feed giraffes and meet capybaras, miniature horses and goats, then watch the animal shows. A relaxed half day for families with children.
Open: daily 08:00–17:00
Phraya Nakhon Cave
Home of the Kuha Karuehat pavilion, built for King Rama V in 1890, with the royal monograms of Rama V and Rama VII on the cave wall. The light is best around 10:00–11:00, especially early in the year. See our Phraya Nakhon Cave guide.
Open: daily 08:00–15:30
Zone C – Sam Roi Yot & Kui Buri

Sam Roi Yot Lotus Marsh (Bueng Bua)
One of Thailand’s largest freshwater marshes, with a long wooden boardwalk under the limestone peaks. Good for birdwatching and short boat trips among the lotus.
Open: daily 07:00–18:00 (service point about 08:00–16:30)
Kui Buri National Park
Often called Thailand’s safari, with a very good chance of seeing wild gaur and elephants. Park rangers take visitors along a 7.6 km route to the Salat Dai mineral lick and the wildlife viewing cliff, where elephants come out in the late afternoon.
Open: daily 14:00–18:00 (arrive before 16:30)
Zone D – West: hills and vineyards

Pala-U Waterfall
A 15-tier waterfall in the forest of Kaeng Krachan, known for more than 250 kinds of butterflies (come before 10:00) and clear pools where you can swim with friendly mahseer fish. See our Pala-U guide.
Open: daily 08:00–16:00
Monsoon Valley Vineyard
Thailand’s largest vineyard: wine tasting, mountain biking and painting your own wine bottle among the vines, with elephants cared for on the estate.
Open: November–March 09:00–20:00, April–October 09:00–19:00
Wat Huay Mongkol
Home of the world’s largest statue of the revered monk Luang Pu Thuat and a carved three-headed Erawan elephant. The shady grounds have a pond for feeding fish and the small Than Mongkhon cave. See our Wat Huay Mongkol guide.
Open: daily 06:00–20:30
Opening hours can change on public holidays — your driver can check on the day.
Damnoen Saduak floating market tour – 10 hours
A full-day tour to three of the best-known sights west of Bangkok:
- Damnoen Saduak Floating Market — boat vendors selling fruit, noodles and souvenirs along the canals (go early, it is busiest in the morning).
- Maeklong Railway Market (Rom Hub) — the market where stalls fold back their awnings as the train passes through.
- Wat Bang Kung — the old chapel wrapped in the roots of a giant banyan tree.

The price is the same for all three ways of doing it: a round trip from Hua Hin, from Bangkok with drop-off in Hua Hin, or from Hua Hin with drop-off in Bangkok. That makes it an easy way to see the floating market on your way to or from Hua Hin.
